Scientific Name: Betta splendens Description: The Veiltail Betta Male is a classic aquarium favourite with a long, flowing tail that drapes gracefully behind the fish. Hardy, colourful and highly interactive, he is best maintained alone or with carefully selected peaceful tank mates. A heated aquarium with gentle filtration, live or silk plants and surface resting areas supports healthy behaviour and fins. Avoid sharp ornaments and strong currents. Feed a quality betta pellet supplemented with small frozen foods. Never house two male bettas together, and monitor any community setting for fin-nipping or stress.
