Veiled chameleons are large chameleons, known for their striking colours and prominent head casque. They are native to Yemen and Saudi Arabia, and are popular as pets due to their interesting appearance and behaviours. Veiled chameleons are characterized by their large casques (a bony growth on the head), prehensile tails, and zygodactylous feet (two toes fused into a pincer-like structure on each side). Veiled chameleons exhibit a wide range of colours including green, brown, orange, and yellow, often with stripes or bands. They are known for their territoriality, preferring to live alone and often displaying aggression towards others.
